About the Environmental Studies Program

The Environmental Studies program at CU-Boulder is a hub for facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration in environment and sustainability. The program nurtures interdisciplinary academic training for undergraduate and graduate students, provides guidance for students with career aspirations in environment and sustainability venues, promotes diverse professional education experiences, fosters fundamental and applied research, forms meaningful connections with communities beyond the university, and integrates innovative, interdisciplinary programs unified by the themes of environment and sustainability.

About the School of the Environment and Sustainability

The School of the Environment and Sustainability at CU-Boulder fosters collaboration and promotes greater synergies among the many programs centered on themes in the environment and sustainability across the CU-Boulder campus. It houses the programs of Environmental Studies and Environmental Design as well as engages faculty from a wide variety of disciplines across the campus. Its cross-cutting structure allows CU-Boulder’s students to holistically assess the linkages and interconnectedness between our natural, built, and social systems on local, regional, and global scales.
